The Migration Information Centre (MIC) of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) can provide you legal and social counselling in the following areas:

  • Residence (conditions and types of residence in Slovakia, assistance with applying for permanent or temporary residence, visas, etc.);
  • Employment (obtaining or renewal of the work permit, forms of employment, employment contracts, etc.);
  • Conducting business (conditions of doing business in Slovakia, types of businesses, procedure to establish a business, etc.);
  • Family (family reunification, marriage, etc.);
  • Housing (notification of residence, property ownership, renting a flat, etc.);
  • Healthcare and health insurance;
  • Social security (sickness insurance, pension contributions, social benefits, assistance in material need, etc.);
  • Education (access to education, recognition of the achieved qualifications, etc.);
  • Citizenship (conditions and procedures for obtaining citizenship);
  • Contacts (migrants’ associations, civil authorities, non-governmental organizations, etc.)

Counselling services are provided by qualified counsellors daily during the opening hours of the MIC in Bratislava on Grosslingova 4 and in Košice on Hlavná 68. You are welcome to use computers with Internet access during your visit at the MIC.
