| What do I need to get a work permit? |

To obtain a work permit it is necessary to submit an official application form called "Application for Granting a Work Permit", which contains the applicant's personal data as well as the "Promise given by the employer to employ the foreigner". The application form shall be submitted in two copies. There is also a possibility that the employer could submit the application form on behalf of the foreigner. WARNING: In such cases the employer must prove this fact by having a written Power of attorney. Other required documents: copy of passport, proof of education (diploma, certificate – translated into Slovak language by an official translator certified by Ministry of Justice of SR, translation must be attested by a round seal of an official translator). Required documents shall be submitted to the locally competent Office of Labor, Social Affairs and Family according to the future place of work. |
