Who needs a Work Permit and who does not Print
If you come from outside EU/EEA area and you intend to work in Slovakia you will probably need a work permit in addition to a residence permit. Whether you are required to obtain a work permit or not depends, for example, on the type of your residence permit, the type of work you want to do, the length of your residence in Slovakia and other circumstances.

Work performed without a valid work permit and a residence permit - if the employee needs these according to the law - is considered illegal work. The fee for someone working illegaly is up to Eur 331,94 (SKK 10 000). The fines for employers are much higher.
